Fall Means Festival Season

Destin Seafood Festival

Alas, summer has ended. Kids are back in school which means beaches and roads are less crowded. While some people are looking forward to Pumpkin Spice Lattes and sweater weather, we are excited about Fall festivals. There are plenty of fun events each season in Destin, Florida but the Fall season brings some of our favorite annual festivals. It’s time to mark your calendars for some much anticipated Gulf Coast happenings just around the corner.

The 39th annual Destin Seafood Festival will take over the Destin Harbor on October 6th-8th. Fresh seafood is a major attraction to the coastal area and the seafood festival gives you seemingly endless options on local seafood dishes. For those not interested in seafood, there will be plenty of other food available as well as great drinks, live music, and lots of fun. Each day will have live concerts to enjoy and 3 kid zones including a petting zoo and zip line. This yearly festival is free admission with donations accepted.

Mattie Kelly Art Foundation’s Festival of the Arts will be October 28th and 29th. Over 100 juried artists from around the country will have their work showcased with cash prizes awarded in several categories. Local food trucks with delicious specialty dishes will be onsite as well as live music each day. There will also be an area for kids to get creative making it a fun event for the whole family. Each Thursday evening, visitors to the Village Green can enjoy outdoor concerts under the stars. At 7pm each week, popular local bands will perform including Heritage and Swingtown.

There will also be a number of wine and beer festivals to attend along the coast before the year is over. Check out our events page for details on more local activities. Luxury Destin condos are available near the festivals for overnight accommodations. We hope to see you this Fall!
